I was born and grew up in New York City

- a native to the East Village.

The beauty of the turn of the century architecture here has always fascinated me. The apartment buildings, which were built as temporary shelters, in the early 1900’s, for immigrant working class families, possess a charm, which needs to be preserved. The brick facades are ornate, with columns and sculpture, the fire escapes flow with style. Using pinhole photography I have discovered that I can capture the essence of these buildings.

In addition, to the architecture I enjoy photographing treescapes. In my efforts to document life in the East Village I have discovered nature in the gardens and parks. My pinhole photographs of trees seem to take on a life of their own - tree limbs turn into arms, and trunks into bodies. What starts out as an ordinary tree turns into a "Boxer". I love to develop my own photographs and see what images I have captured.

Most photographs are available framed 8" x 10", 11" x 14", or 16" x 20".
